- Southern Sudan 1984, The war just started and the school is telling all the students to hide from the rebels and the school can't and doesn't want to make sure that they try to escape to go home and the rebels were evading the villages but Salva still had a plan to escape just too see if his family is ok.
- Everyone there is a war hide!!!
- I wonder if my family is ok?!
- Southern Sudan 1984 during the war, Salva is escaping the school even though he knows that something might happen to him and he started getting the thoughts of his family harmed because of the war so he is trying to go back to his village and back to his house because he had other thoughts thinking that they are ok and they are in the house waiting for him so they could hide together.
- My family better be ok.
- Southern Sudan 1984, Right after he left the school he went to the village still with those two thoughts in his head so he saw everyone outside there houses except for his so he started panicking and was asking people if they had seen them.
- Where is my family I can't see them did they leave me or did they get hurt.
