  • HERE'S YOUR TEA!
  • On March 5, 1770, there was a mob of colonists and a line of soldiers. The soldiers open fired on the colonists and ended up shooting them. Five colonists were found dead and a couple wounded. Some point of view on the story says the colonists fought back with snow balls and some say the British attacked and the colonists were defenseless. There isn't a perfect telling of what really happened at the Boston massacre.
  • Sugar Act
  • On December 18th, 1773 Boston rebels dressed as Natives and dumped 18,000 lbs of tea into the Boston harbor. The colonists were sick of being taxed so much on tea they decided to rebel. Which is completely understandable, taxes suck. I would throw that tea into the harbor too if I were a colonist. It's understandable why they were being taxed since they are living in the British territory but, it still sucks.
  • Stamp Act
  • STAMP ACT FLAG
  • On December 16, 1774 the British made a series of laws after the Boston tea party. The law was aimed to punish the colonists for their defiance in the Tea act. This also made the Boston harbor closed which meant no trade of goods and no receiving goods. There is one picture of a colonist pouring tea down a tax collectors throat as a sign of their anger against the British.
  • Townshend Acts
  • TAX-ON-TEA3 per lb
  • On April 5th, 1764 British legislation wanted to end the smuggling of molasses. They made a la to prevent the smuggling from happening again and the started enforcing the collection of higher taxes and duties.
  • ENOUGH SMUGGLING!
  • March 1765 colonists were required to purchase special stamped paper for every legal document, license, newspaper, pamphlet, etc. As a result of this the Bostonians organized a secret resistance group called the Sons of Liberty
  • LETS START A BOYCOTT!
  • On June 29th, 1767 indirect taxes on imported materials such as glass, lead, paint, paper and tea. This was also to punish the smugglers through use of general warrants that could be used to search property for smuggled goods.
