  • Proclamation of 1763
  • AHHH HAAA! You can't go west of the Appalachians. No land for you bookie.
  • I'm so sad, I fought long and hard for this country and got nothing in return.
  • The Sugar Act
  • I COST MORE MONEY NOW
  • The Stamp act
  • I ALSO COST MORE MONEY NOW
  • In 1763 after the war, The Proclamation of 1763 was passed. The British had just won the war. The colonists just finished fighting a war for the British. The colonists believed that for fighting the war, they would be awarded land when the war was over. however, the proclamation crushed all their dreams of land. The proclamation basically states that the colonists were prohibited to move west of the Appalachian Mountains, causing the colonists not to get the land they deserved.
  • Townshend Acts
  • The sugar act was passed in April of 1764. The act consists of the British putting a tax on foreign sugar/ molasses and banning foreign rum. These new rules upset the colonists in unimaginable ways. The colonists were already infuriated about the false hope after the war, the sugar act was just salt added to the wound. The colonists felt that not only was their reward stripped from them, but they was paying for a war they didn't ask for in the first place.
  • Boston Massacre
  • The Stamp Act was passed March 22, 1765. The act consisted of England putting more taxes on the colonists goods. But this time they taxed things like newspapers, pamphlets, legal documents etc. This was another way England made the colonists pay for the war they started., I could only imagine how much more upset the colonists were with the British.
  • Boston tea party
  • The Townshend Act was passed June 29th of 1767. The act consisted of the same things the other acts did, this time they taxed them for things like glass, paint, lead, paper etc. This caused more anger and confusion for the colonists, they were still paying for the war even years after.
  • The Boston Masscre occurred on March 5th 1770. It all started with a fight on King street between the British soldiers and American colonists. Nobody knows what they were really fighting about, but one thing lead to another and is ended in death. The name Massacre might scare you a bit, because I know you think is was a lot of death after this, but i reality it only ended with 6 people dead.
  • The Boston Tea party was on December 16th 1773. The colonists were protesting all the taxes that have been placed on them for England's benefit . The colonists had enough of the British Bs. So as part of the protest they dumped crates of tea into the bay to get back at the English. I would've done the same tbh.
