The french revolution stared in 1789 and ended in 1799. This was a time when the commoners of France rose up against the monarchy.

The meeting of the estates general was an assembly of representatives from all three estates. They met to approve and vote on the new tax.
The Great Fear
3 days after the estates general meeting the national assembly got locked out the meeting room. So, they broke into a tennis court and declared they were staying until a new constitution was made.
Members of the third estate stormed the Bastille, a Paris prison, in search of gunpowder. They decided to storm the Bastille because of a rumor saying that foreign troops were coming to massacre the french.
The Great Fear was a wave of panic and riots that spread through France. Peasants even became outlaws themselves.
