  • Although Stella wants her daughter to study back at USC, Kennedy dropped out to be an actress. Kennedy's choices to leave school reveal the type of person she is.
  • When Jude is working, she serves Kennedy Sanders a drink as she sits by the bar, observing her. Brit Bennett's "The Vanishing Half" displays, "She looked eighteen maybe, leggy with wavy blonde hair, and she wore a shimmery silver dress cut scandalously above her knees...her eyes were so blue, they looked violet" (Bennett 140). Kennedy's description allows the reader to know what she looks like.
  • What does Kennedy look like?
  • In the novel "The Vanishing Half", Kennedy asks Stella a series of questions about her mother and her past. The text reveals, "Now her mother turned around.
