- Meet the Younger family!
- Money for school?
- "Thanks, Daddy."
- Eat your eggs!
- "Eat your eggs, Walter"
- "DAMN MY EGGS-DAMN ALL THE EGGS THAT EVER WAS!"
- The Younger family composes of Mama(Middle), Walter(left bottom) her son, her daughter Beneatha(Top right), Ruth(top left), and Travis(Bottom right). They live in a very small apartment and have little money.
- Ruth!
- "Ruth! Ruth honey-what's the matter with you... Ruth!"
- When Travis, Walter and Ruth's son, asks for money to take to school, Ruth responds with saying that they don't have enough money for it. Walter comes down to observe the situation and gives him many coins which pleases Travis while Ruth gives them the death stare.
- I don't know what to do..
- "Well, I guess from all the happy faces- everybody knows."
- Ruth wants Walter to get to work so he can earn money to support the family. When she tries to make him eat his eggs and go to work he claims that no one in this family ever listens to him and that the man has it the worst.
- Asagi!!!
- Ruth and Mama talk about Walter's dreams and how they don't have enough money. Mama talks about the check that's coming and what she will or will not use it on. The stress that is put on Ruth is too much and she passes out on the floor.
- Ruth goes to the doctor after passing out to find out that she is 2 months pregnant. Mama and Beneatha are shocked. Ruth is scared to tell Walter that she is pregnant for he may tell her to get rid of it. She is thinking about it because they don't have enough space nor money to support another child.
- Asagi is an African American man who has an interest in Benetha. Benetha had originally met him to learn more about her culture and people. Asagi always laughs at her though because he thinks it is foolish to try and be a woman doctor. She thinks that it is rude, but she is starting to fall for Asagi.
- "Nigeria is my country. Yoruba is my tribal origin-"
