Saul hated Christians, He went to great lengths to track them down and persecute them. In a famous example approved the stoning of Stephen, eventually leading to his death
STONE HIM!
HE IS A FOLLOWER OF CHRIST!
Stephen was accused and foundguilty of Blasphemy and by judgement of Saul he was persecuted.
"Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?" "Who are you, Lord?" Saul asked. "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting," he replied.
As they where leaving from jeruselum to go to demascus, Suddenly Saul was hit with a beam of light. Jesus Appeared
Damascus
Jesus departed and Saul became blind. Two men traveling took Saul by the hand and led him into the city of Damascus. For three days, Saul was blind and he did not eat or drink anything.
Damascus Welcomes You
Don't worry. We will help you reach the city.
I've been struck blind! How will I ever get to the city, as the Lord instructed me to?
In Damascus, the Lord appeared to a man named Ananias in a vision. He instructed Ananias to find Saul and restore his sight, but Ananias was unsure.
But Lord, I have heard all the horrible things this man has done against your holy people in Jerusalem.
Ananias, go! He is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings, and to the people of Israel. I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.
Ananias found Saul and placed his hands upon him. Immediately, scales fell from his eyes and he regained his sight. Saul ate and drank to regain his strength. He was then baptized. Saul preached in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God, however, the people were cautious of him.
This must be a trap. How can he talk like this when he persecutes Christians? He will probably turn us in. He isn't a disciple.
Isn't this the man who persecuted Christians?!
Jesus, the one who died on the cross and rose on the third day, he is the Son of God, the Messiah.
