- Cortéz was cent to present day Mexico,by the governor of Cuba in 1519. the Aztecs viewed them as gods, because of there horses armor, and firearms. with the help of the Aztecs enemies, they overthrew the Aztecs. the Aztecs possessed lots of gold/silver,and shipped it back to Spain, to make them very rich

Instead a arriving at the Mississippi , he arrived at Matagorda Bay. He built a fort, and tried to establish friendly connections with neighboring Indians, but they didn't get along. La Salle went to get supplies, form mexico, and the fort got attacked.The survivors left to go to French Canada. Along the way, La Salle was killed by his oun men
