- Hello, I am a Crime investigator. I am 34 years old with a bachelors degree in criminal justice and a Master's in counter-terrorism. I currently work for the city of Houston.
- I started out as a local city PD officer before transitioning to my specialty as a crime scene investigator. It can take up to 3-5 years of working as a local police officer before transitioning to crime scene investigator and learning the specialty of investigations.
- You can see me at most potential crime scenes within the city. I used to wear a regular police uniform but a lot of my work is in an office when I am not on scene so I wear a professional attire to work.
- 3 primary job duties that I do is to investigate homicides, theft, or counterfeit issues. Sometimes I am in a bedroom like this because someone might have died in bed and it is my job to discover if there was any foul play involved
- Here is a clear illustration of a scene in which I might be put in harms way. It is clear that someone has died and the area is potentially hostile. Sometimes those we interrogate are not nice and when they are discovered to be victims, they can cause harm to us in order to escape.
- There are various reasons I like my job but what drives me the most is solving a case and holding those involved accountable and getting the bad guys off the streets.
