During Paleolithic age, Early humans 2 million years ago obtained their food by hunting animals and by gathering the food from jungles. so they were called hunters and gatherers.

The earliest humans used more simple technology and often scavenged for food but with more improved technology larger animals were hunted in groups,
The men were responsible for hunting and the women did most of the gathering.

They lived in caves like the one behind me, in rock formations as well as in open air settlements. The hides from animals were used as floor covering as well as hides were also used for covering the body.
The nomadic groups used mobility as a survival strategy. They moved from one place to another in search of food water and to escape danger.
The early hunters and gathers used simple tools. During the stone age sharpened stones were used for cutting. Controlled use of fire for cooking marked a crucial turning point in history.

With the beginning of neolithic period, when agriculture practices were first developed, some groups abandoned hunting gathering practices to establish permanent settlements leading to population growth. Early farmers learned how to domesticate animals. They raised sheep, goat and cattle for meat.

Gradually , people discovered that they could plant seeds and harvest crops. over time farmers learned which seeds produced the most crops in the areas where they lived.
