This castle hath a pleasant seat; the air. Nimbly and sweet.
Act II, Scene ii, Lines 34-35
"Sleep no more! Macbeth does murder sleep"-the innocent sleep.
Act III, Scene iv, Lines 20-21
There's but one down; the son is fled.
Duncan is complementing Macbeth and Lady Macbeth's castle. Duncan is choosing to trust them based on their castle without getting to know them first. This is an example of free will and foreshadows his death when he gets killed by Macbeth.
Act IV, Scene i, Lines 71-72
Macbeth! Macbeth! Macbeth! Beware Macduff! Beware the Thane of Fife. Dismiss me: enough.
Macbeth murdered Duncan and destroyed their sleep. He took away his ability to rest because of the guilt he has for killing Duncan. Shakespeare used personification to give murder a sleepless act. This affects Macbeth's free will creating restlessness and chaoticness between him and Lady Macbeth.
Act V, Scene i, Lines 70-71
Macbeth had Banquo murdered along with his son. The murderers successfully killed Banquo but his son escaped. This was ironic because Macbeth didn't really need Banquo dead but the one person he needed dead escaped. This affects Macbeth's free will because there is still someone coming from his spot as King.
Act V, Scene v, Lines 19-20
We have lost best half of our affair.
This shows fate vs. free will because Macbeth wanted to stay in power so he killed Macduff. His true fate was his death because of his free will of killing people. This foreshadows Macbeth's death because the armed head belongs to him even though he doesn't know it yet.
The doctor uses personification to say that the pillows are deaf. Free will was used to show that Lady Macbeth thought her free will was to take over her fate and have complete power by helping with the murder of Duncan. Except, Lady Macbeth's guilt took over and made her fate death because her conscious was taking over her mind.
Infected minds. To their deaf pillows will discharge their secrets.
Macbeth uses repetition to show how tired he is. Macbeth believes he lost his purpose in life because he will not be King. This also shows fate vs. free will because if Macbeth did not kill Duncan he would not be in the spot he is in right now.
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow. Creeps in this petty pace from day to day.
