  • Is blending in with the environment always an adaptive trait?
  • Therefore I think the claim should be bending in with the environment is only an adaptive trait if you have a specif selection pressure to acquire such trait.
  • The sheep's white and blends in with the environment due to the selection pressure of the dogbeing it's predator.
  • For example this dog is white and blends in with the environment, however there is no selection pressure to make this dog white as they have no predators them blending in with the environment is rendered useless.
  • The sheep's are also displaying variation in size and skin and they are different and how it regards in population.
  • The changing of environment can also make the most vaulable traits useless, for example the sheep's white fur helped it blend in the snow for the artic, the sheep's white fur can now be seen as a non-adaptive trait due to it not helping it advance and survive, THe number is sheep with the adaptive trait with spike in population as well.
