- I would like to return Toto back to you, how much will you pay for him
- Okay sir but I would take Toto for only three rupees.
- One day at lunch,a large dish of pullao was placed on the table and Toto was stuffing himself with rice. when the narrator's grandmother screamed and Toto threw a plate at her. when the narrator's aunt tried coming forward she received a glass of water on her face. When the narrator's grandfather arrived Toto exited through the window along with the dish of pullao.
- The narrator along with his family found Toto on the branch of the jackfruit tree and was eating each and every grain of rice once he was finished he threw the dish down from the tree to spite the narrator's grandmother and was chattering in delightment.
- The narrator and his grandfather soon realized that tot wasn't the kind of pet that they could keep for long due to the high expense of keeping him at their house. They couldn't afford the frequent loss of dishes, clothes, curtains, and wallpaper so the narrator's grandfather returned Toto to the tonga driver for only three rupees.
