- The French Revolution was caused by how the people where unhappy with the government. King Luis XVI did not have good economic policies. The different social groups did not like how they were treated. The French Revolution lasted about 10 years and it went from 1789 to 1799. Nobles and Catholics ruled during this time.
- The King Louis XVI met his death by the guillotine. His wife was also killed by the guillotine. They were sentenced to death once they were overthrown.
- The French was establishment of an republic that had civil equality. The revolution changed how the political power was and also ended the monarchy. The social structure also changed during this time.
- The Reign of Terror was during the revolution. The government and arrested 300,000 suspects. They wanted to get rid of the idea of feudalism. They had the clergy, the noble people, and the commoners. The bourgeoisie didn't like the unfair treatment and neither did the commoners. They all wanted equality with politics and how they were treated.
- The revolution came to it's end when 1799 came with General Napoleon and he over threw the revolutionary government.
- Napoleon stormed into a place called Bastille and that is there were he finally overthrew the government. His last battle that overtook the French. He then became the ruler. He became the French Consulate. He ended monarchy. This brought in liberty and freedom like the people wanted.
