- Hester Prynne arrives at Boston alone to make a living for herself.

- She dares? I'll show her what I'm capable of

- She has an affair with Arthur Dimsdale and a child was born out of wedlock. She later goes to jail because she didn't want to expose the father- the minister of the town.
- I really don't feel well, What's going on?
- Due to this, she is publicly shamed and has to wear a red letter "A" for the rest of her life.
- This isn't good, maybe God is punishing me, I'm going to get exposed
- Her "dead" husband- Chillingworth shows up and finds out about the situation and vows to take revenge on his wife's lover.
- Around the same time, Dimsdale falls sick; suffering from an unknown illness. The stress of him getting exposed by the public is getting into his head.
- I heard Hester's husband is back, I hope he doesn't find out
- Roger Chillingworth poses as a doctor to "help" the sick minister. Chillingworth suspects that Dimsdale might have something to do with Hester.
- His ailment is definitely cause by spiritual conflicts. What wrong did he commit?
