- Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president and the political leader for the North, also known as, "The Union." Being a Republican, he was opposed to the expansion of slavery.

- Ulysses S. Grant is known as one of the most influenced military leaders for the Union. During the Civil War, Grant had an aggressive and determined mindset, becoming the 18th president of the United States.

- Where do we go? I don't know where to go!!
- The Union decided to perform a specific military strategy titled, "The Anaconda Plan." It is supported by Winfield Scott to slowly choke and suffocate the south economically. This creates Blockage preventing the confederacy from trade.

- The rifled barrel was conducted in the North from the state of Massachusetts. This weapon strongly improved the Union's weaponry because it increased the length the bullet will travel when fired.

- Although the Union holds many advantages when talking about the Civil War, there were also barriers that occured. Being as though the north invaded the south, a trouble they faced was fighting in unfamiliar territory and the large size of the area.
- The Minie Ball, was co-developed by Claude-Etienne Minie who is from France. Killing an opponent on sight, the power of this little bullet heavily helped the Union, allowing their oppositions to drop easily.
