  • Your mother has been dead for years, so do not disappoint me tonight!

  • RISING ACTION
  • Hey buddy, welcome to dauntless. Im Amar!
  • Tobias Eaton was born into the faction, abnegation and was told mostly all his life that his mother died. Since then, he had to live with his abusive father and deal with the pain. When he was sixteen years old, he chooses one of the five factions according to his dominant personality trait.
  • CLIMAX
  • I'll be on the look out for you Jeanine!
  • The story told from Tobias's view is broken up into four parts, the transfer, the initiate, the the son, and the traidor. Each of the parts has its own conflict to be figured out. The first conflict is man vs man, Tobias vs his father. Secondly, man vs man, when he is at the choosing ceremony. Next he needs to pass the initiation.
  • FALLING ACTION
  • Max and Jeanine is planning to attack your faction and I dont know what to do 
  • After the initiation, Tobias chooses the faction dauntless, this faction was least expected of him by his father. While in the faction, he finds out that he is divergent, and his friend Amar ends up suspiciously dead after he helped Four cover his divergency up. This leads Tobias into further investigation into the Jeanine and Max.
  • RESOLUTION
  • When Tobias discovers the secret deals between Jeanine and the dauntless leader Max, this plays roll of the main high point in the novel. This discovery lead to many complications, Tobias has been viewing everything and everyone closer than usual and shows signs of uncertainty.
  • MHMMM
  • Now that Tobias knows about Max and Jeanine's plan to team up and destroy abnegation, he is unsure of what to do because he does not want to be a faction traidor. He then goes to confront his father about the issue and ends up trading on a factions either way.
  • There is no real resolution in this novel. The end of this novel goes straight into the second book, "Divergent," and the real resolution around the entire situation is in the last novel, "Allegiant."
