Storyboard Text

  • After escaping their last peril, Odysseus and his men find themselves on the island of Aeaea, home to Circe, a pretty, yet dangerous goddess.
  • When they reach where Circe resides, she treats them very hospitable. Being weary, Odysseus sends in some of his men, but stays back. Circe invites the remaining men in to eat.
  • The men that entered her residence were fooled! They were drugged and Circe turned them into pigs. Most of Odysseus' men were turned into pigs, but luckily Odysseus had stayed back.
  • While staying back, Odysseus runs into Hermes, who is secretly disguised as a young man. Hermes gives Odysseus a magical herb, called Moly. This herb would protect Odysseus from whatever magic Circe intended to use against his crew. Hermes also informed Odysseus on how to beat Circe, and make her fix what she had done.
  • Since Odysseus had the herb, he was protected against Circe's magic. He lunged at Circe, overtaking her, and got her to turn his men back into men. Hermes' plan had worked!
  • After that altercation, Circe kept Odysseus with her for about a year. They had shelter, food, and any other necessities they would need. Circe was also essential with advice, as she gave them very useful advice that later saved them.
