TRANSLATION,REFLECTION ENLARGEMENT AND ROTATION
TRANSFORMATIONS
Today I will be telling you about all four transformations.
The first one is translations. This is very easy, you just need to move the shape according to the vector. The top numbers on the vector stands for right or left and the numbers on the bottom is up and down. If the numbers have a minus sign on it, that means its left or down.
Now I will be taking over Mr Dracula.Reflections are when you reflect a shape by a mirror line. Normally, the mirror line would be the X or Y axis. When reflecting the shapes, you would have to draw the shape depending on where the axis is. If the mirror line is the X axis, you would have to reflect it upwards, if the mirror line is on the Y axis, it would have to be reflected up. Sometimes, the question requires the mirror line to be on one of the numbers, (E.G. x= 3)
Hello I am Mr Nivens Mc Twisp. I will now teach you how to do rotations. I think you already know what rotate means so it is going to be very easy for you all. First you need to read how many degrees you need to rotate. Then you can use a tracing paper, draw the shape and hold the point given to you on the paper. Finally rotate it and draw the shape directly onto the paper.
Enlargement is when you either make a shape bigger or smaller. you can do this by multiplying the length and width of the shape by the factor of enlargements. You sometimes need to enlarge a shape by a center of enlargment, the center of enlargement is point where you enlarge a shape from.
