- Amboh - She is Dayang-Dayang's mother. She was living in the astana. Several years passed, their family encountered many problems that led to their possessions being confiscated. She and her husband died. She seemed caring and her attitude is peaceful.
- Babo - She was Jafaar's aunt. She sent away Jafaar to a Datu for she could not afford to feed two mouths. She died when Jafaar was young. She was caring and patient.
- My mat-weaving can’t clothe and feed both you and me. It’s really hard, son, it’s really hard. You have to go. But I will be seeing you every week. You can have everything you want in the Datu’s house.
- Appah - He is Dayang-Dayang's father. He also lived in the astana. He was a Datu and a wealthy man. He let a young Datu from Bonbon marry his daughter. Several years passed, their family encountered many problems that led to their possessions being confiscated. Him and his wife died. He seemed compassionate and welcoming.
