- After the troops had won saratoga they decided to have a day of thanksgiving while they headed to valley forge Pennsylvania. The celebration you are picturing is much less than what they had. They were almost naked in the middle of winter, and only got a few ounces of rice and a tablespoon of vinegar.
- The reason the men had no clothes was that the merchants had made prices for items extremely expensive. The blankets were barely affordable, and farmers made the crops super expensive to take advantage of the soldiers in need.
- General Washington got some help from Germany and hired someone to help train them. He put them through drills that helped them he said "Grow stronger each day".
- Lafayette an extremely rich man from France decided to make a donation to the fighting troops in America. The warm clothe she donated to them gave them enough courage to go through and win the battle.
- Sir Henry Clinton had decided taking over Philidelphia had done nothing for them, so they retreated, but little did they know the British were following close behind them and were about to fight them in New York City where the British thought they were safe.
