- Issue Number 1: Healthcare The only state that was crucially swayed in the 2000 US presidential election was Florida. Florida’s 25 electoral votes were the deciding factor. Al Gore lost the electoral votes he would have gained from Florida. George Bush was ahead by 537 votes, while Al Gore only secured 266 votes. Al Gore served as vice president for 8 years and had a career in Congress before that. His extensive experience in federal government gave him a deeper understanding of both national and international issues. Gore was also known for his strong stance on environmental issues, specifically global warming and climate change. He had been an early advocate for sustainable environmental policies. Lastly, Gore prioritized funding for public education, supporting smaller class sizes and more teachers. Overall, he significantly emphasized his commitment to protecting women’s rights.

Gore was a strong advocate for environmental protection and wanted to invest in “green technology” to address climate change, reduce dependence on foreign oil, and create more sustainable jobs. Gore made the impression that he would be a candidate to provide steady economic policies aimed at long term growth and stability.

Gore proposed increasing federal funding for public schools and aimed to provide more resources for students and teachers. Gore also persuaded the increase pf teacher’s salaries to provide more opportunities for development. Making higher education more affordable was crucial to Gore. His education policies highlight his commitment to investing in public schools and encouraging equal access to the student's quality in receiving education.
