- Atum made Osiris (his son) the ruler of the world because Osiris had proved himself to be wise and thoughtful. Isis ruled alongside Osiris. Osiris's brother, Set, became jealous of his brother. He secretly made a perfect mold of Osiris's chest. At a party, Set promised the chest to anybody who could fit it. Of course, Osiris fit it perfectly. Set slammed it shut. Set quickly put the coffin in the Nile River. He claimed Osiris was dead and became the ruler of the world.
- Soon after Isis found out that Set had hidden Osiris (their brother) into the Nile River, she began a journey to find his body. After she had found it, Isis brought it home and left the body in the care of her sister, Nephthys. Set soon grabbed the body from Nephthys and chopped it into many pieces.
- A few years after Osiris had died and gone to rule the underworld, a nephew of Set's named Horus fought his uncle in a battle that lasted eight decades. Horus finally won and sent his uncle into the desert. There was now harmony in the world.
