- Libby lives in Amos Indiana and goes to Martin Van Buren High School. Everyone judges Libby for being known as “America’s Fattest Teen”, but they don’t know it was the stress from her Mom’s death that caused her gain.
- Exposition (J)
- Jack and his friends make up a game called “Fat Girl Rodeo”, where him and his friends grab and bully overweight girls. One of their victims is a girl named Iris, who Libby sees getting grabbed and comes to her rescue, eventually leading to a friendship between Iris and Libby.
- Climax
- Jack apologizes to Libby and tells her about his disorder (prosopagnosia). Libby is understanding and helps him deal with it. In the process the two become close friends.
- Resolution
- Jack, who also attends MVB High is fairly popular in school but he secretly suffers from prosopagnosia, a disorder when one cannot recognize faces.
- Jack wins the “Fat Girl Rodeo" by grabbing Libby. In response to this, Libby punches him and the two get detention for an extended amount of time.
- “Close friends” leads to them realizing they have feelings for each other and the eventual confessing of feelings.
