I cannot eat or drink; It's all turning into gold!
King Midas is Very greedy. He wishes for anything he touches to be turned to gold. The golden touch.
Oh no!!! I accidently turned my daughter into gold.
On his way to breakfast, Midas touches all the flowers in the garden. Of course, they all turn to gold. Marygold does not like this. She stated, The flower has no fragrance and the petals prick my nose.
Please! I do not want this golden touch.
Do you now see why it is important to be thankful for what you have?
Very well. Use this water to cleanse yourself and others that have been affected by this power.
They both sit down to eat their meal. Midas tries to eat his bread but he is unable to as it turns into gold. Midas also tries to drink water but the water turns into liquid gold. Marygold was eating her food with great satisfaction.
Thank heavens, it worked!
What happened?
Midas states Such a costly breakfast and nothing can be eaten. He tries to shove a baked potato in his mouth but it turns into gold and burns the inside of his mouth. Theyboth jump up and as Midas tries to comfort her, she turns into gold!
Distressed, Midas whines and groans about having turned his own daughter into gold. He goes outside in search of the stranger that gave him his powers. He appeared before him and Midas pleaded to have his powers taken away.
After hearing what the stranger had to offer, he is in a hurry to cure this curse. He reverts a flower back and hurries to his daughter. When he arrives he splashes Marygold with the whole bucket of water. She is no longer a gold statue, but a living human.
