Storyboard Text

  • My planet is called Neila, and I live in the largest kingdom on our planet. I was born a bit peculiar. I was born with an abnormally round head. My planet’s people have large square heads, and usually, having a different shape of head would either mean you are cursed or you have been infected with an incurable disease. From the moment I was born, I was hated. Everyone called me many nasty names, like round face and circle head, but the worst was moonface. The other kids would shove me around and smack my head like it was a basketball. I hated it. Additionally, our society is very high tech. We have devices that can track things throughout the universe and could find resources outside of our solar system.
  • Why does this happen to me.
  • look at that boys head, it's so weird
  • His name is Moonface, he is a odd boy. I hate his round face.
  •
  • One day, the king of our kingdom was declared deeply ill. For days, I could only watch as the citizens worried for the king. I hated the King. Even though I had never met him before, I hated him. He is the ruler of this kingdom, and he has never helped me when I was hurt. Everyone called him the “kind” king, but I don't see anything kind about him.
  • As my rocket’s engine fired off with a loud “BOOM”, I took off into the starry night sky. While flying, a large rock from a very large planet hit one of my wings. My ship starts to shake as it tries its best to regain balance. I scream, holding on tight to the seat belt as I fall in a streak of bright light down to my destination.
  • My king! What will we do?
  • I'm going to crash!
  • Noooo!
  • I crash-landed on my destination, as my ship’s screen notifies me that I have landed right on my destination. Take out my flashlight orb to look around the new planet. Then, I saw a pale-looking boy about the same size as me. The closer he got, the more it surprised me. He was frail and had a head as round as a moon. His evident eyes were baggy from crying. I slowly stepped out of the ship to meet his eyes. His eyes look similar to mine. Then I noticed. He was the cure.
  • A few more days passed, and the doctors finally announced a cure. For a matter, I did not care. But when I heard no one wanted to find it since it was from an alien planet far away, I thought of a plan. If I could bring the cure to the king, and heal him, my life would become royalty! My life would have changed! As I pick up some more information, I start to begin my journey. I sneak into the hanger of our kingdom and hop on a small spacecraft. I typed in my destination, and without looking back, I hit the “Blast Off” button. The screen lit bright red as a large blue and green planet filled the screen. Earth.
  • He looks so pale and sad. Is he sick?
  • I will save the King and prove them wrong!
  • What is that?
  • But before I knew it, we were sitting on the hill talking with each other. He asked me where I came from, and I said that I was his new neighbor. I didn't want to scare him. We talk and talk, and more than an hour has passed. He asked me a thousand questions, and I answered them all. I asked him all about his planet, and he answered them all too. It was the first time in my life that I was actually happy. I felt wanted. It felt like we'd known each since forever. It was about midnight when we agreed we would meet again at the same spot tomorrow.
  • Before he comes, I think about my plan. Do I really want to bring him with me? Maybe he and I could have a better life there if he cures the king. We could both live happily then! I have to convince him. After a while, he comes, and I tell him everything. But then I ask the big question. “Come with me,” I say. He slowly begins walking up, “but we can’t come back.” He suddenly stopped, hesitating; I must convince him back. “Where I am going, no one will scorn you; there is a cure.” I lie. I hated it, but I had too.” Then he stops, and says, “I can’t.” I was stunned. “Why?” I ask. “Because I have to give them a chance,” he says. but they don’t love you because you are sick, different.” I am convinced. “I know,” he replies, “But one day, they will come to understand. They won’t be frightened anymore. And I believe we will find a cure.” Then it struck me. He believed in his people, even though they treated him terribly, why can’t I? I was horrible in thinking I should take him back, just for him to experience it again. “I’m glad I met you, little Earthling.” I say.
  • I'm glad I met you little earthling.
  • Where I'm from, they call me Moonface.
  • No, I'm just a new neighbor.
  • He must be sick, he sounds weak
  • We never exchanged names!
  • Did you see a ball of fire?
  • Me too!
  • As I walk back into my ship, I think about all the time I have spent with him. I will deeply miss him, and I will never forget him. As my ship slowly flies away, I look back at my new friend and think about his words, which hit me to the heart. I believe that his people will find a cure, and I believe my people will find a cure too. I will believe in my people, just like he did.
  • We got closer and closer, and I almost forgot about my task. But it was bothering me. I did not want to use my new best friend, but I also really needed to prove myself. I couldn't really figure myself out, so I just concluded that I would convince him to come back with me. We spent more time together and got to know each other more. One day, he takes me to the town village. And I notice the nasty faces that are thrown at him. “He must have the same disease as Moonface; that's why they are friends,” someone whispers. His name is also Moonface! And he is exactly like me! We shared the same pain. I look over to see him with a sad expression as he turns to me, confessing everything. Before he could finish, I cut him off and tell him to meet me at the place we met at midnight.
  • Im sorry, I haven't told you anything. I used to have many friends. You see, I am about to die, I have an illness...
  • Thank you, Moonface,
  • I know, come to the place we met tonight. I will tell you everything.
