Storyboard Text

  • I need new textbooksfor this semester but I also want Apple AirPods.
  • I have many options for what I could do. I could buy the right textbooks and not get the AirPods or I could skip buying a textbook and use the money to get them. I am going to make a list of all my options to solve this problem.
  • List of options and consequencesBuy new textbooks but I won't have money left over for AirPods.Buy used textbooks with lots of markings (which I don't like) but may have some money left over.Don't buy a textbook(s) and buy AirPods instead. However, I won't be prepared for class.Buy a PDF of a textbook from some site and use the savings for the AirPods. This may result in theft of my credit card numbers and could be illegal.Trying sharing print textbooks with friend(s). This could cause friction and lack of being prepared. Yet, I might have enough for an AirPod purchase.
  • Step 1: What is the problem?
  • My parents trusted me with the money to purchase the items that I needed. They did not authorize the purchase of new earbuds. By not using the money that I was given appropriately, I would be abusing their trust. In addition, I would not buy textbooks from an illegitimate site. It is not right to violate copyrights. The authors put a lot of time and effort into the books and should be compensated for the work.
  • Step 2: List Options to Solve the Problem
  • I will buy the textbooks per my professor requirements.
  • Step 3: List Options and Consequences
  • I am happy with my choice. I am prepared for class and didn't let my parents down or jeopardize my friendships over a pair of new AirPods.
  • Step 4: Consider Values
  • Step 5: Take Action
  • Step 6:Reevaluate your choice
