- Location: India Time period 3300-1300 (5,000 years)
- Welcome to Indus River Valley Home to Indus River
- These are ancient Indus houses. These houses were used to house the people of the Indus River Valley area, but these houses were also used as workshops. The work was mainly crafting things like pots but some had more community like jobs.
- Toilet
- These are ancient Indus toilets and shower trays. The toilets were clay blocks with holes leading to a water system , the water system was connected to every house. The flow of the water disposed of human waste. The shower tray is a tray filled with clean water. We would pour this tray over our bodies to get ourselves clean.
- Shower Tray
- This is the Great Bath, the first public water container. The people of Indus River Valley used this "Great Bath', to become pure and healthy.
- This is a seal, and no it isn't an animal. This Indus River Valley seal is used to mark an imprint on documents and packages with goods inside.WE also pressed clay and waited for it to dry, creating a clay tag. We would also carve symbols on them like elephants or bulls.
- This is what trading looked like in Indus River Valley. People used trading instead of money because at the time they did not have dollars or coins, so they used crops, pots, beads, and clothes to trade for things needed to live their lives. This is one of the reasons why farmers or crafters would work so hard.
