The energy from the sun is considered to be renewable. So it does not run out
Such as through the water behind me!
While we use the sun's energy a lot there are other ways we access energy. 
Hydroelectric energy releases no air pollutants and also provides flood control and water for many things.
However, it can damage the habitats above and below the dam. Also, if the dam bursts it can kill those living by the dam
IT IS CALLED OCEAN THERMAL ENERGY CONVERSION!
Tidal power plants have also been used to create electricity from water. However, it has its own technological challenges
But there is another way
Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion or OTEC is the use of a vacuum to boil sea water to create electricity. 
Precisely! To keep this cycle going the cool water that is taken in from the ocean cools off the steam and turns it back into reusable water.
The steam released by the boiling water spins the turbine which runs an electric generator.
Like many new technologies, this method has its own mysterious and unknowns that have yet to be discovered. Such as the impact it has on the environment
Test trials have revealed that this method is not cost effective and the process of pumping the water uses 1/3 of the energy it produces. But then again, this technology has yet to be perfected so let us watch and see how it grows.
