Sitting around the scolding fire, we turn our heads over to Beau continuously bashing his new knife off the tree. My stomach begins to turn as I picture something bad happening.

With one final hack of his knife, the razor-sharp blade folded on his brittle finger. In shock, he stands there screaming. Hearing from the campsite our parents hurry over, to see the pool of blood lying under him.

As I sit down with my dad my stomach drops and tears begin to flow. I express we never thought that would happen. Worried about my best friend my dad comforts me and teaches me a lesson we needed to learn.
