- Starting the story the mother and the daughter are walking down Albert Street where a little boy is begging for money because he is hungry. However the mother walks forward taking her daughter with her. This scene depicts what happens.

- Moving along her daughter begins to ask her why she doesn't give him the money and her mother in her head is listing of all the reasons of why he should be out begging and eventually she decides to give him the shilling.

- In this strip of the comic its shows the mother who instead of giving a shilling gives him 5 dollars. She want her daughter to notice her kindness and how she will give back.

- The little boy just grabs the dollar without so much as a thank you. Her daughter then proceeds to ask her that the if the little boy didn't say thank you. Her moms explains to her the basic principle of kindness and thank you just to get her lesson to her daughter across.
- He never say thanks,no chu, mommy?
- No babes, You're supposed to say thank you when someone gives you something, but even if they don't say thanks, you should still be kind to people.
- The mother and daughter leave a store and see the little boy across the street giving the money to who she assumes to be his mom. Then a lady walking by the street explains to them how she thinks this behaviour is all because of drugs. The mother examines the five dollars and keeps it for herself.

- Lastly, the mother and her daughter decide that they are going to leave but just before she does that she hears the lady is telling her son ti ask the nice lady over there for money. She realizes that this lady asks her son to get money for her instead of providing for him.
- Go ask that nice lady now!
