  • Before the Revolution (1754–1788): The French Revolution was preceded by unfair taxation, a faltering economy, and famine. (The Enlightenment period also gave rise to a number of novel ideas.) Because they ignited the revolution and served as its catalysts, these events are crucial to the destiny of France and Europe.

  • The Estates General (1789): Mainly called in response to the faltering economy, the Estates General served as the impetus for the French Revolution. The future of Europe and France was significantly impacted by this incident.

  • Tennis Court Oath (1789): The third estate was scheduled to debate the Constitution, but the meeting room's doors were locked. This led to the Tennis Court Oath.   • The National Assembly (1789): After overthrowing King Louis XVI, the National Assembly used fear to suppress revolutionary ideas since they were so weak.
