- Enfield and Utterson go for their regular Sunday walks when they pass an unusual door. Enfield then begins to unfold the story of seeing a deformed man trampling calmly over a little girl.
- Utterson and other guests visits Jekyll's house for dinner part. Utterson stays behind too discuss with Jekyll about the will and Mr Hyde, by the end of the discussion they agree too not talk about Hyde again.
- Nearly a year later, whilst a maid was looking out her window, she witnessed the murder of sir Danvers Carew. Hyde clubbed him to the earth with a cane that he had received as a gift from Mr Utterson. The maid faints in shock however she calls police at around 1am when she comes around.
- Poole goes too Uttersons house as he is worried that something bad has happened to Jekyll. Utterson asks whats he thinks has happened however Poole just went blank and says " I think there has been foul play"
- Utterson and Poole decide to break down the cabinet door, afraid of what could be behind. They break in too find Hyde, dead, on the cabinet floor, barely holding the crushed phial which had supposedly killed him. They search high and low however they could not find a trace of Dr Jekyll. However, Utterson does find a will, which was meant to go to Hyde, Utterson contemplates opening it but stops himself and goes home.
- There were also 2 other letters attached to this will, one to open if Lanyon dies and the other if Dr Jekyll disappeared. Knowing thathe will soon become Hyde forever, Jekyll writes a letter to Utterson, hopingthat Hyde’s tendency to live in the moment will preserve it from his violentdestructive nature. He states that he does not know whether Hyde will die uponthe gallows or end his own life, but that either way these are his own –Jekyll’s – final moments.
