  • Yay!!
  • Hi! I am interested in the government and I want to know how the Constitution protects it's citizens.
  • Oh, of course, little kid. I'll explain to you why and how the government protects you and our own citizens.
  • Yup! The legislative branch, judicial branch, and the executive branch. But why do we have 3 branches?
  • So first of all, do you know the three branches of government?
  • Well, this brings me to checks and balances. We have three branches because the power needs to be separated equally, where each branch checks the power of the other branches so that one branch won't have more power than the others, leading to tyranny.
  • Wait, what are federalists and anti-federalists?
  • I have also heard of the Bill of Rights. Can you tell me more about it?
  • Federalists were people who supported the Constitution. And anti-federalists opposed the Constitution and demanded a bill rights to be added in order to ensure that their rights will be protected.
  • First, we will need to go back to the 1700's when Federalism occurred along with the anti-federalists and the federalists. Federalism is division of power between national and state government.
