We all said our goodbyes, and Vivien left. We didn't hear from her for a while.
One month later we get a letter from Vivien with all of the photos from her trip. My father instisted that I laminate the photos. He said he didn't know when she would be back, so he told us to cherish the photos.
As I laminated the photos, I began having more realizations. I, once again, contemplated telling my father Vivien's truth, but decided against it. I thought about how Vivien expressed her desire to come back, and wondered how she was doing. I still pitied my father, and kept thinking about how I will leave one day.
Looking through the photos, I realized how obvious it is that my father loves Vivien more than me and my siblings. They all seem to be excluding me.
I began to burn the pictures, out of anger of my own realizations. I left only one.
The last photo that I hadn't burned was one of Vivien and I in the airport. She was smiling, but I wasn't. I burned this picture too, and watched the ashes fly away.
