A long time ago, in 1701, the French worked and traded with the First Nations. They worked well, when the Governor of new France noticed something.
The war between you two are interrupting our trading and business.
The Iroquois are enemies of us! We must do something.
After hearing the news, the Governor assigned the Chief of Huran Wendats,#160; Kondiaronk. His job was to persuade all 30 nations to come to meet at Montreal.
The location was far for some and an epidemic broke out. It was a tough journey. Some people survived and reached their destination.
When the Nations heard Kondiaronk 's comments,#160; the leaders and representatives agreed to it and decided to meet at Montreal where they would discuss about their peace with one another.
Everyone signed the#160;La Grande Paix de Montréal. The nations were at peace and decided to make a tree of peace.
The tree of peace is now planted on the highest mountain: The Iroquois and all your allies will look up to it often. Let us now live in peace.
