- My sister was born in Mexico and lived there for only six years.
- Where are we?
- My mom decided to move to the U.S. with my sister just a couple of weeks after she turned six years old and to start a new chapter over there since my dad had already gone over to the U.S. already. My sister was only six at the time but said that she still remembered when she was transporting.
- How do you say...?
- My mom and sister were picked up by my dad and were brought to my uncle's house and lived there for a couple of months until she was able to find a job. My sister remembers how out of place she felt and weird to be living in a house she had never seen.
- My sister remembers how she and my mom were confused about places and things they had to do like take my sister to the dentist, school, and taking her to the doctor.
- My sister remembers struggling with learning a new language and adapting to a new culture and trying to fit in a new society
- My sister said that her favorite thing about living in the U.S. is the opportunities for jobs and careers and the new people she has met. She is glad to take this journey with my mom and the result of her overall experience.
