- US Fruit Company farmer is calling US Government from Guatemala because he is mad at President Arbenz's land reform policy which is taking away their land.
- Arbenz's land reform is taking away our companie's land!
- United Fruit Company executives hire Edward Bernays to spread propaganda that Arbenz is a communist.
- Okay, we'll do something about it!
- Mr. Bernays, we need your help
- Edward Bernays, a professional in the field of propaganda, agrees to convince the president and CIA to start a coup in Guatemala, which will overthrow Arbenz.
- Don't worry gentlemen, I'll convince Eisenhower that there's communists in Guatemala so that he starts a coup to kick out Arbenz!
- Bernays convinces the president that there are communists in Guatemala. Eisenhower decides to tell the CIA what's going on and will ask them to bring down the Arbenz regime.
- Mr. President, there's communists in Guatemala!
- Communists!? We must stop this!
- Eisenhower instructs the exiled Col. Carlos Castillo Armas to invade and start a coup in Guatemala. He will also bring other exiles as soldiers from Honduras.
- Col. Carlos Castillo Armas, I need you to invade Guatemala and overthrow Arbenz.
- Armas tells his soldiers when they will invade Guatemala the night before. He will have some assistance from the CIA, but his army is made up of other exiles.
- Alright everyone, we'll invade Guatemala at 8:20 AM!
