The Errand Boy: Ethan is the errand boy for the printers. He's charged with delivering the day's papers and running secret notes to the Sons of Liberty to alert them to meetings at the Old South Church.

THE DAME SCHOOL TEACHER
The Dame School is in session with the children learning their reading and writing. Ethan delivers the day's news about the new tea tax and the three ships laden with tea in the harbor.

THE BASKET TRADER
The basket-trader is at the tavern to trade her willow baskets. She sees the turmoil brewing between the Patriots and Loyalists, but does not want to get involved. She and her people have already lost so much.

THE ENSLAVED BLACKSMITH
Ethan delivers the paper to the blacksmith. The blacksmith enslaves a man stolen from Africa and forced him to work. He hears the men talk of tea, taxes, and freedom. He thinks, Freedom for them, not for me.

THE SONS OF LIBERTY
The Meeting at the Old South Meeting House is underway. The Sons of Liberty believe that the talk is not amounting to anything: This meeting can do no more to save the country! The signal to act!

Ethan joins in with the Sons of Liberty to throw chests of tea off the ships in Boston Harbor to protest the Tea Tax.
