- It's not called Out-With Bruno.
- No. I don't understand why we're not allowed on the other side of it. What's so wrong with us that we can't go over there and play
- I want to know about the fence. I want to know why it's there.
- What is it anyway? What do you want to know?
- You mean you don't know?
- Bruno, the fence isn't there to stop us from going over thre. it's to stop them from coming over here.
- But why?
- because they have to be kept together
- Bruno walks in Gretels room to ask about Out-With but Gretel gets frustrated at Bruno mispronouncing Out-With.
- with their families you mean?
- what do you mean their own kind?
- Well, yes, with their families. But with their own kind too.
- Gretel is confused as to why Bruno does not know the purpose of the fence and laughs at what Bruno had just said which is what he thought the purpose of the fence was.
- But why not? What are we then?
- Are we Jews?
- No, we most certainly not. And you should even say someting like that.
- Bruno does not understand why they must be kept together.
- We're the opposite
- But if we're not, what are we then?
- Gretel explains to Bruno in annoyance why the people behind the fence have to be kept with other jews, their own kind in there.
- With the other jews, Brun. Didnt you know that? Thats why they have to be kept together
- Gretel is shocked when Bruno asked if they were jews and is insulted that he asked such question like that
- No, Bruno, No, we most certainly are not. And you shouldn't even say something like that.
- Gretel informs Bruno that they are the opposite of Jews and that they do not like jews.
