- Ivan-ugh, to leave town, quit the struggle and noise of life, and go hide in your country place isn't life, it's egoism and laziness.
- Nikolai-I have always dreamed of living in a treehouse, especially to get away from this corpal office!
- Ivan-Yeah, right Nikolai!
- Nikolai-You'll see Ivan I'll be much more successful than you in years to come, I'll even have servants and maids working for me!
- Q1- They know their place, they show respect.
- (Nikolai sighs clearly irritable)- Man it's always you to say these things, I treat my maids and servants wonderful!!!
- years later...Ivan visits his brother, and learns he's grown to be a successful landowner, who became a little entitled.
- He will never be as successful as me!
- Q2- At the door of every contented, happy men, somebody should stand with a little hammer, constantly tapping to remind them unhappy people exist.
- Ivan-Hey Nikolai, I've seen you've grown to achieve your dreams, and have this fancy treehouse! But don't forget to think of the less privileged people in the world!
- (While Nikolai does housework,Tartar comes to visit Ivan,and tells him he understands his philosphy)
- Q3- The world would rather see hope than just hear it´s song.
- Tartar: I fully agree with you Ivan, and you know I've been dealing with Semyon The demon .
- Ivan-At least someone understands my philosophy!
- Tartar-You may be getting somewhere with this complex dialogue of such, but don´t contradict your statement!
- Semyon tells Tartar to meet him in the town to try to convince him to believe his philosphy
- Semyon-Q4 Important matters are reserved for us, for our life, and death, a death that always claims the right of way.
- Tartar-Q5 My father is a sick man. When he dies my mother and wife will come here. They promised. ¨
- Semyon-Q6 and what do you need a mother and wife for?
- Tartar-You're so insolent, you don´t care about anyone but yourself, and your personal obligations. I'll never agree with your philosphies!!!
- Semyon-Q7 That´s all foolishness, brother. It's the devil confusing you, damn his soul. He'll get at you with freedom, but you stay tough.
- (Ivan secretly listening to their conversation)
- Tartar-Ivan your so right! Q9-Semyon, Gentleman a good soul, excellent, and you a beast, you bad. God created men for be alive, for be joy, and be sorrow, and be grief, and you want nothing!!
- Tartar comes back to the treehouse with semyon,not knowing Ivan was listeining to their conversation
- Ivan-Q8 The games complex, the goals far out of reach, the outcomes still unclear .
- This game is the game of life, and learning how to have hope in difficult situations
- Semyon-You humans disgust me!!
- Nikolai finally comes back from doing his housework,and sees semyon and Ivan,but semyon reveals his true form as a demon
- Tartar-you must be from another planet, Q10- neither moon nor earth.
- Semyon-you humans, Q11- meek souls never haunt us in the dark.
- Ivan-Q12- our times are still not safe, and sane enough for faces to show ordinary sorrow. You have to learn how to not show weakness Tartar!!
- Nikolai-What the heck is this demon doing here,i need to teach him of my philosphies!!
- Nikolai-Q13 I know the people and I know how to handle them. The people like me. I have only to move a finger and the people do whatever I want!!
- Ivan-well obviously you don't remember our grandfather was a peasant, and our father was a solider.
- (Tartar and Semyon listening to the conversation)
- Semyon-Q14 Let people exist if they want, and then die one after another.
- Nikolai-Semyon, get out of my tree house!!and bring your friend Tartar who brought you here.
- Not yet I'd like to reiterate my philosophy to him. Q15 there is no happiness and there shouldn't be if there is any meaning purpose in life, then that meaning purpose are not at all in our happiness, but in something more intelligent greater. Do good!!
- (Tartar listening)
- Tartar and Semyon getting kicked out of Nikolai's treehouse.
- Ivan Nikolai-Ugh they're finally leaving!!!
- (Semyon Tartar upset they have to leave)
- Tartar-Q16 my 2 brothers, and uncle stole horses from a peasant. He beat the old man half to death; the community gave me and unfair trial. I'm not guilty, I've been falsely accused.
- Tartar and Semyon go to a nearby shop to have a conversation.
- Semyon-Q17 you'll get u-u-used to it.
- Tartar- (responding to Semyon)-It virtually does Semyon!!I came here to live my life to the fullest. I know it wasn't legal!
- (Emphasizes he's traveled a lot of places)
- Tartar-Q18 crime is not all, we're up to down there.
- Semyon- Q19 Not every sentence there means death.
- Ivan-These gooseberries must represent your success, and our childhood, but they aren't as good as I remember them!!
- In this scene now that Tartar and Semyon are gone, Nikolai and Ivan can finally spend some quality time together
- Nikolai-Now that they're gone, I can finally eat my gooseberries!!Q20- how delicious!
- (He ate greedily and kept repeating this same phrase)
- (Ivan is saying to always stay positive have faith even when there's obstacles to face)
- Ivan-Q22 The going's rough, and so we need the laugh of bright incisors, molars of good will!!
- Nikolai-Q21 I love my treehouse because it doesn't repeat a single shape, shade, pose, or arrangement.
- THE END!!!
