- With the execution of Robespierre, the Reign of Terror has reached an end, but Laurent and her two sons were left in despair. Struggling to make enough money to support her sons and unable to properly grieve her husband, she works extra hours washing clothes, often starving and exhausted from working all day.
- I miss father!
- With the rise of Emperor Napoleon and the Napoleonic Code, Laurent is reaching a more stable life. Angry as her rights have been severely limited under his rule, her sons are able to go to school. Her only dream is for her sons to raise in ranks and no longer struggle for money.

- However, I can no longer sell, give, or buy property. How I am supposed to provide a better life for my children?

- Hopefully, this peace will last
- She returns from the march, helping to successfully force the royals to move to Paris from Versailles. As the constitutional monarchy is approved by the King, she stays hopeful for the future of her family. However, the riots in the streets grow more and more.
