  • The Cuban Revolution occurred on July 26th, 1953 to January 1st, 1959. It was an armed revolt conducted by Fidel Castro. 
  • One cause of the Cuban Revolution was when Fulgencio Batista took power as dictator in 1952.
  • A long term cause of the revolution was the Cubans distrust and dislike the United States. 
  • The United States government had supported the American-friendly Batista regime since it came to power in 1952.
  • On January 1, 1959, Batista and a number of his supporters fled Cuba. Tens of thousands of Cubans celebrated
  • The Cuban Revolution was a turning point in recent history. Because of Castro, Cuba became an important player in the global power of the Soviet Union and the severity of the Cold War.
