- His father and mother were Upendrakishore Ray and Bidhumukhi Devi respectively. Now onto Sukumar.
- Sukumar Roy was born in Eastern Bengal, British India (Present Day Bangladesh) on 30 October, 1887.
- These are my mother and father. My father is also interested in arts, music, and writing; he is also an entrepreneur and astronomer. Me and my father are also very close to Rabindranath Tagore. I also have four sisters and one brother.
- Now I am back as a teen to tell you more about myself. Some big things that have happened are that one of my sisters, Shukhalata Roy has become a social worker and a writer, I have also graduated with double Honors in Physics and Chemistry from the Presidency College.
- I am married now and this my wife, Suprabha Roy. I have also pioneered Photography and Lithography, I have also made lectures on songs by Rabindranath Tagore before he won the Nobel Prize, My articles are also published in English journals sold all over England. I had also joined the Royal Photography Society in 1912. My father has started some publishing companies which I and my brother, Subinay were helping to run.I have also wrote The book "Pagla Dashu (Deeds of Daring Dashu)" after bieng inspired by my friend. One sad news is that my father had died on 20 december, 1915.
- Sukumar died on 10 September, 1923. he left his wife with one son who was two years old at the time of his death. He died out of a sever fever named leishmaniasis. His son, Satyajit made a documentary about his father five years before he died.
