Text evidence(chapter one) "As a young man of eighteen he had brought honour tohis village by throwing Amalinze the Cat. Amalinze was the great wrestler who for sevenyears was unbeaten"(Chapter one)"When Unoka died he had taken no title at all and he was heavily in debt. Anywonder then that his son Okonkwo was ashamed of him/"
My name is Okonkwo, the one who bought honor to my own village by throwing Amalinze the Cat. I am far from weak
I refuse to let my children become weak, as Unoka, hey will not hold the name of no title, as my father was.

text eveidence(Chapter two) "The lad's name was Ikemefuna, whose sad story is still told in Umuofia unto this day"(chapter four)Even Okonkwo himself became very fond of the boy- inwardly of course.(AND) "He therefore treated Ikemefuna as he treated everybody else - with a heavy hand. But therewas no doubt that he liked the boy. Sometimes when he went to big village meetings orcommunal ancestral feasts he allowed Ikemefuna to accompany him, like a son, carryinghis stool and his goatskin bag. And, indeed, Ikemefuna called him father"(chapter seven)"He couldhardly imagine that Okonkwo was not his real father. He had never been fond of his realfather, and at the end of three years he had become very distant indeed." (AND)"Although hehad felt uneasy at first, he was not afraid now. Okonkwo walked behind him." (AND)"The pot fell and broke in the sand. He heard Ikemefunacry, "My father, they have killed me!" as he ran towards him."
I am Ikemefuna, I don't remember much from my real family but I trust Okonkwo, my "father"
I enjoy bond that I share with Nwoye we've grown closer, though with Okonkwo, he is harsh and emotionless but is still my "father"

text eveidence(chapter two) "openly. Okonkwo's first son, Nwoye, was then twelve years old but was alreadycausing his father great anxiety for his incipient laziness. At any rate, that was how itlooked to his father, and he sought to correct him by constant nagging and beating"(chapter seven)"Later in theday he called Ikemefuna and told him that he was to be taken home the next day. Nwoyeoverheard it and burst into tears, whereupon his father beat him heavily"
I'm Nwoye, I'm just twelve but am already looked down at by my father Okonkwo, his first son. I'm apparently sensitive.
Rather than Okonkwo, I like Ikemefuna, he is my brother, almost. We've grown close as time has passed, he IS my 'brother".
