- a government ruled by religious leaders claiming their authority comes from God...in other words, that God has chosen them to lead
- this is a theocracy you can't do that
- a small religious group usually with a preacher as their leader...once a sect is established and acquires more members it could be called a denomination

- the attempt by the Catholic Church, after the Reformation, to return the Church to spiritual matters...in other words, they attempted to fix the problems others accused them of
- that's so cool
- also i'm a Counter Reformation
- we have to Inquisitions you if you don't join the Church
- an institution or part of the Catholic Church that sought to eliminate anyone not in agreement with the Catholic Church; they would arrest, punish and even execute heretic
- a paid pardon or forgiveness of sin issued by the Catholic Church...you give the church money, they forgive your sins or the sins of a family member
- I will indulgence your sin
