- Okay children! As you can see on the board our topic to be tackle today is effects of earthuake hazard and the value or importance of knowing earthquake hazards and risk reduction. But before that can anybody tell me what is earthquake?

- Ma'am, earthquake is the sudden and violent shaking of the ground, sometimes it cause great destruction.

- Earthquake is really dangerous so people should learn how to lessen it or how they protect themselves from it.

- Earthquake produces the greatest property losses and personal injuries. In economic, earthquake can affect the businesses of many people and it can also destruct livestock .
- Excellent Justin! So children earthquake ground damage hazards pose a significant risk to infrastructures, life lines, buildings and life.Also,the effects from earthquakes include ground shaking, surface faulting, ground failure and less commonly, tsunamis.
- Make sure houses has a bolted foundation. Often during earthquakes, houses may be knocked off their foundation especially if it is made with light materials. Always have enough emergency supplies or always prepare your Go Bag. Make sure that it is located in a place which can be easily reached during and after the earthquake hits.

- It is important to know your risks. The chances of an earthquake occuring is different from place to place depending on the location and proximity to active fault lines and plates. Areas such as the Pacific Ring are prone to earthquake activity so different precautions must be taken in these high risk areas. However places that may be located other than on the Pacific Ring may be at risk as well.
- Hazard identification, awareness, vulnerability, risk assessment, mitigation and preparedness are significant to be able to reduce the risk from earthquakes.
