- It was all cut short when Diana Moon Glampers, the Handicapper General, came to the studio and shot dead the Emperor and the Empress and restored order to the studio. The transmission was cut while everything went back to normal, where everyone is equal and no one is allowed to stand out.
- BANG, BANG!!!
- Diana Moon Glampers Killed us and killed our dreams to happiness!!!
- Hazel saw the whole event on TV and she couldn’t remember any of it. All she was left with was her feeling of sadness but she didn’t know why.
- I don't know, i forgot ....
- "You been crying? What is it?"
- " Here, here! Forget sad things, that's my girl."
- "Harrison Bergeron, age 14, has just escaped from jail, where he was held on suspicion of plotting to overthrow the government. he is a genius and athlete, is under-handicapped and should be regarded as extremely dangerous."
- The television program is interrupted by a news bulletin where it is announced that Harrison Bergerson, George and Hazel’s 14 years old son has escaped from prison. He was kept there because he was intelligent, handsome and athletic, and wouldn't abide by the rules. George recognizes him but he hears the sound of an automobile collision in his ear that makes him forget what he had thought.
