  • Before I watched the video, I assumed that the world was mostly made up of forest land. This would allow animals to have a reliable home without the worry of becoming a homeless. I thought that this would be the bare minimum for our world but after watching, I suppose not.

  • Before watching the video, I thought that people around the world did not all have the latest technology. In fact, I thought they would have Nokia's, Blueberry's, and iPhone 6's but now I know that, that's a false reality. I thought that as long as they had a device they could communicate with, that was enough.

  • Before watching the video, I thought landfills were a lot less occupied. This is because I thought we used to used products for years before we threw them away. We also never over-consumed, which would normally result in 10lb to 5lb of waste that would be put in a home disposal bin.

  • After watching the video, I learned that governments decided that they wanted to expand companies to make them worldwide, but that came at the cost of forest land. This also largely increased the amount of pollutants in the air, but that is just the least of consequences of this.
  • Now, after watching the video, I know that people are constantly purchasing goods from the store, whether it costs $1 or $1000. This is because of perceived obsolence. Society has made a new normal, one that will result in the disposal of hundreds of products that work perfectly fine.
  • After watching the video, I know that consumerism has reached its worst. People throw 99% of the products they buy after 6 months of use, that's half a year! Compared to 20 years ago, there has been a 68% increase of waste put in landfills and by leaving it there, the air becomes polluted.
