Symbol: The Fire symbolizes the destruction of the house, and it shows the chaos that can result from not conforming to the government.
Please! Get out of this fire! It's dangerous and you can die if you don't get out now!
This causes Montag to think and wonder what was so important about those books. He was impressed by the woman's defiance, which prompts him to secretly take a book home with him!
Montag tries to convince the woman to get out of the buiding, but she does not move.
No! I will not come out of this house. No matter what you say. These books are my life. You can't ever have these books
Please! You must come with me now!
Montag still tries to convince the woman to leave.
No! I want to stay here, you carry on though.
It was too late. Montag could not move, for he was not sure what to say. He burned a woman.
Montag tells Mildred about the woman, but she did not seem to care. She simply thinks that the woman got what she deserved. Montag thinks otherwise.
She is nothing to me. She shouldn't have had those books.
